An unfortunate by-product of municipal and commercial waste processing is the potential build-up of malodorous emissions. If these odours are not appropriately controlled, fugitive emissions can lead to poor air quality leading to a reduction in amenity value and nuisance.
AAe offers an integrated service, with process engineers and assessors called OdourSol JV. The Joint Venture provides over 60 years collective experience in the monitoring, assessment and management of odour associated with waste and farming operations.
Works include the monitoring and assessment of odour and the development of Odour Management Plans.
Sampling is undertaken in association with air monitoring of VOCs, methane, ammonia and bio aerosols. The team utilises the use of flux boxes, point source and ambient monitoring to assess odour emission rates and concentrations.
Monitoring and analysis is undertaken in accordance with EN 13725:2003. We use both odour concentration and hedonic tone as part of the assessment process..
As required, OdourSol JV can advise on a number of mitigation measures that can be implemented to control odour concentrations and the potential for fugitive emissions.
